Passion & Purpose

From the time of being one year old and crawling autonomously across the juniper filled hills of Santa Fe, New Mexico, I have forged my own path. Determined to be unfettered, I got lost in lightening storms of heart racing impact. I acquired countless cactus needles in my palms, gashes and grit in my sun tanned knees. I stumbled upon the lifeless remains of things that were devoured by the wild desert. Often exhausted and exhilarated, I rode to safety on the back of my Doberman, Hanz, my devout protector.

From this unconventional, and often barefoot upbringing, my imagination, like myself, was able to run wild. Creativity came naturally to me, I was akin to the fact that I was surrounded and immersed by creation herself. I have expressed and come to know myself through the act of creating and have made meaning out of my life because of it. This life has inspired my art and in turn art has inspired my life.

I close my eyes and dream of worlds beyond logical comprehension. Sometimes nightmares of tumultuous and relentless darkness. Sometimes portals into kaleidoscope heavens that I don’t want to wake from. From these visions, I draw. From the visions of others throughout history in the form of mythology and folktale, I draw. From the natural world, and the worlds unseen, I draw. I draw, and I paint, and then I share it with the world in hopes to inspire connection, meaning, and perhaps even evolution.
I share it with the hope to genuinely relate to others and help to evoke their greatest aspirations and personal explorations, and to remember to stay a little wild.

I wish to celebrate the sacred elements of life, the things that inspire and shed light as well as the struggles and darkness that I have conquered and continue traverse. To me, art is an exploration of consciousness and a declaration of life. It is a meditative practice that has been my trusted companion since I was a child.
